Cups and Coffee

After some catching up, conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Their professor, in the meanwhile, went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - some plain looking, some expensive and asked them to help themselves. Immediately, there was a clamor for the crystal cups and the plain cups eventually had no takers. Once all the students had a cup of coffee in their hands, the wise professor pointed out what happened and said: “Life, my dear students, is like the coffee. Jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life but the quality of life doesn’t change. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.” This week, let’s remember to enjoy the coffee.
